If power and performance is what you’re looking for in a truck, let us introduce you to the all-new TRX trim, which just so happens to be MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year for 2021. This top-level engine for tha Ram can’t be beat by the SIlverado’s top engine, with the TRX through this 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8, reaching a blistering 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft. That’s unmatched power and performance that the Silverado can’t match with its own. Both trucks exist with a wide selection of engines, a 3.6L Pentastar V6, 5.7L HEMI V8 (plus a version with eTorque) and 3.0L Ecodiesel V6 for the Ram 1500, and a 2.7L Turbo, 4.3L V6, 5.3L V8 and Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel for the Silverado. That sets up fairly evenly against each other, but the tops of the Ram can’t be matched.

Capable features on the Silverado 1500 side include a Durabed and Multi-Flex Tailgate, but don’t quite provide the variety of storage and versatility that the Ram does.

While the Silverado 1500 has their own large lineup of trims, engines and features, it never manages to reach the luxurious quality or state-of-the-art touches that the Ram has. Not to mention the awards and honours from others like MotorTrend, and it’s clear the Ram 1500 is the best truck for 2021.
