What’s New for the Uconnect 5 Infotainment System?

Just about every automaker has its own infotainment system that handles a varying array of different functions. Jeep vehicles, including the 2022 Wagoneer, use the Uconnect system – among the most well-regarded infotainment suites available. Uconnect 5 is faster and offers more processing power than previous iterations, opening up even more possibilities.

There is nothing that explicitly precludes a person sitting in the front passenger seat from controlling the Uconnect system. Some trims are equipped with a separate touchscreen mounted in front of the front passenger seat, essentially set up to make the front passenger a co-pilot. According to Jeep, the passenger’s touchscreen can control:

Owners can create five driver profiles that will store several personalized functions, including music preferences, seat and mirror positions, and climate control settings. Additionally, up to eight devices can be connected to the mobile 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Digital Driver Information Center: The analog speedometer and tachometer have been replaced with a digital screen. It can be customized to show the drivers several different kinds of information, including the status of the vehicle’s various active safety systems.
