The Centre sits at the entrance to the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary, which covers approximately 300 acres and is home to hiking trails and observation areas. The Centre is a wonderful place to lose yourself in nature and interact with local flora and fauna.

2. Rotary Recreation Park

The Rotary Recreation Park is a centrally located, four-season park that offers residents a place to stretch their legs and engage in a variety of invigorating activities. The park offers everything from ice skating to tennis to picnic shelters.

At the center of the park, you will find the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery, which features a tremendous historical display and houses a collection of first nation artwork. During summer months you can cool off in the recreation centre pool. At the north end of the park, you’ll find the Central Spray and Play water park where children can enjoy a fun time in the sun.

3. Great Chief Park

If you like team sports, then Great Chief Park is a can’t-miss attraction. The facility boasts two baseball diamonds, two fastball diamonds, and a combined football/soccer field. There’s also a picnic site, horseshoe pits, a 9-hole golf court, and a playground. You can book the various fields at your convenience and use the area to host practices, special events, tournaments, or other applicable events.
