2022 Grand Cherokee L Engine Menu & Towing Capacity
Jeep offers two engine options to people interested in the 2022 Grand Cherokee L. The three-row SUV can be equipped with either a V-6 or a V-8 engine. Both power plants will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Take a look at the table below to seet the SUV’s performance output and towing scores.

Horsepower | 293 | 357 |
Torque (lb.-ft.) | 260 | 390 |

Is a Hybrid Version Available?
As of the 2022 model year, only the two-row version of the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler offer the 4xe trim grade, which is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. While the 2022 Grand Cherokee L doesn’t have a hybrid version right now, the automaker’s parent company, Stellantis, has made a bold promise to broadly electrify the bulk of its total lineup that will include options from its other brands, Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram.
How Much Cargo Room Does it Have?
The number of people and the amount of cargo a vehicle is hauling can affect its towing ability. By its nature of having three rows of seating, the 2022 Grand Cherokee L can accommodate up to seven people or quite a bit of cargo. When the SUV is holding its maximum passenger capacity, there will be just less than .5 cubic-metres (17.2 cu.-ft.) of cargo volume to use. Folding the third row away will open the rear of the vehicle up to offer 1.33 cubic-metres (46.9 cu.-ft.). And, when the rear two rows are properly stowed, the 2022 Grand Cherokee can make up to 2.39 cubic-metres (84.6 cu.-ft.) available to haul large items.
