The 2022 Dodge Durango might look like an SUV, but it performs like a classic Dodge muscle car. Southside Dodge customers will have three engines to choose from when they’re outfitting the 2022 Durango. Base models will start out with a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre, Pentastar V-6 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic. It will make an impressive 293 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
Dodge pioneered the hemispherical engine or HEMI®. Potential buyers looking for even more power can choose trim grades with a naturally aspirated 5.7-litre, HEMI® V-8, using a different eight-speed automatic. Durango models using this powertrain will deliver up to 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The new SRT 392 model actually uses a larger HEMI® 6.4-litre, V-8 that pushes available power output to a blistering 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
A 2022 Dodge Durango SRT 392 will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than five seconds – a high watermark for the rest of the segment. Even a 2022 Durango with the 5.7-litre engine offers an incredible top speed of 233 km/h (145 mph).
